A good way to make sure everyone enjoys themselves is to have a few bridal shower games ready to play when your guests arrive.   These are great icebreakers as well as a good way to make the party more fun for all. At one time a bridal shower was where a bunch of the bride’s family and friends got together, brought gifts, sipped tea and ate pastries over a little awkward a conversation.  Now those who are organizing these parties are trying to keep them interesting and entertaining instead of making their guests feel that they are only invited to give the bride more gifts

One very popular game is bride trivia. In this game the guests are asked to answer as many questions as they can about the bride. You, as the hostess, will have prepared these questions before the game, maybe even getting the bride to tell you some interesting facts that might be known to only a few.  You can ask questions like who her first boyfriend was, what year she graduated high school, what her favorite subject was in school, the name of her first dog or what her favorite takeout food is. The guest who can answer the most questions wins. This game might be too difficult for those who know her only at work, but they will enjoy it nonetheless
.
Bridal shower games can be similar to other party games but modified for the occasion. An example of this would be pin the veil or the bouquet on the bride. Put up a drawing of a bride and let the guests draw a bouquet or a veil. If you prefer, you can provide them with something to use as a timesaver. The benefit of letting them do the drawing is that it will be easier to tell which one belongs to which guest. Then, just like pin the tail on the donkey, blindfold the guest and see where the bouquet appears once they have stuck it on the drawing. This game can be fun for all.

Sometimes the games that are the most fun are not the one where there will be prizes given out to the winner but the one where there is no winner just a lot of laughter and sharing. One game that works like this is a memory game. When you send out the invitations put a sheet of note paper in each envelop along with a request for the guest to write down a favorite memory of the couple to be or, depending on how you know them, the bride or groom. This can be a childhood memory told by a younger sibling, the first time your guest met them, or anything else that the guest would like to share. When your guests arrive they will hand you the paper with the memory and their name. These will be read during the shower and the bride will be asked to guess who wrote them. Whether she guesses right or wrong at the end of the party she will have some wonderful memories of her friends and family.

With many of the bridal shower games you can play it is okay to have a small gift for the winner. Even though you plan to give something to each guest just for being there a little prize like chocolates, bath salts, a coffee mug or package of stationary will be much appreciated by the winners.
