Choosing the right wedding album photographer is as important as any choosing any other aspect of your wedding. This is the person who is going to record your special day and you want to make sure it is done the way you want it.  Too many couples pick their photographer solely on recommendations from friends, coworkers, or family members. This can be a good starting place but, it is important that you not only like the work the photographer has done but the person. If you are uneasy with them this will be reflected in the pictures they take.  This means it is wise to conduct an interview during which time you look through their collection of wedding photos and see what you think of the photographer as a person. If you do not like them, for whatever reason, even if their work is exceptional, do not hire them. There are lots of wedding photographers to choose from.

Unfortunately choosing a wedding album photographer is often based on more than the quality of their work and their personality. Too often cost is an issue. Make sure you know what the cost will be and what you will get for it. Wedding photographers can cover the entire wedding from the ceremony through to the last guest leaving or they can take pictures of the ceremony and only specific guests. It is really up to you and how much you want to spend. If there are people who are extra special to you, have come a long way and you see them infrequently or who for whatever reason you want to remember on your wedding day then arrange to have their pictures taken. Also, make sure the photographer is aware of any guests you do not want special photos of. Sometimes there are cases where the parents of the bride or groom have invited a few guests. These may be close friends of the parents or a relative they are close to and you are not. Even if the parents request photos make sure the photographer is aware that you do not want them included in every picture because you are not close to them. There is nothing more annoying than having pictures with people in them who you do not know.

You may also want certain events captured during your reception. These could include the cutting of the cake, the first dance of the newly married couple and the bride’s dance with her father. Many couples also get the photographer to take pictures of the tables so they will have a record of the people who shared their wedding day.  Or you may want to include something a little special for your wedding album pages. Many couples will leave the venue they choose for their wedding ceremony to go somewhere unusual to have photos taken of themselves and the wedding party.  These special locations can include a park setting, their home or the place a couple first met or frequented during their courtship. These photos can also be taken before the ceremony.  Whatever you choose to do for the pictures of your wedding be certain to remember that you only get one chance to have them taken and you want to be certain they are done right.  Your wedding album is made to start your life together with happy memories.
